Jewelry Insurance Policies
How To Find The Best Jewelry Insurance
When it comes to insuring your valuable pieces of jewelry there can be a lot of uncertainties and confusion. There are many varieties of jewelry insurance and making sure your valuables are completely insured in case of theft, damage and even loss is very important. After all these can be expensive and sentimental items. In order to make the right decisions about insuring your jewelry it is always best to speak to an experienced jewelry insurer.
Choosing An Insurer
You can either choose a specialty jewelry insurance company or your regular insurance company just make sure your agent has plenty of experience with insuring jewelry. While you may feel that going with a big name insurer will get you the best deal it is often times the small business who is willing to work with you and negotiate a reasonable price for such insurance. Keep in mind that this can vary based on your location and other specifics.
Pure Insurance is a small jewelry insurance company that offers policy flexibility and competitive rates. They will work with you to find what type of policy you need and will even combine policies to get a better rate. But companies that specialize in jewelry insurance often provide better coverage specific to jewelry often offering good coverage for damage or repair as well as claim payment options. Be sure to shop around and compare different companies to make sure you are getting the best deal and plan for your needs. Compare things like coverage details, claim time, claim process, settlement options and price.
Types Of Coverage
When you are shopping for this type of insurance you need to know there are two basic types. Blanket coverage is usually included in your renters or home owners policy and doesn’t require an appraisal of the pieces. It can however be a problem if you don’t have any pictures or other documentation proving you owned the pieces or the specifics of the pieces should a loss occur. The other policy type is scheduled property, which covers items that are accessed individually and appraised. The premium is set based on this information but it is a good idea to get your item appraised regularly since most policies do not have an automatic appreciation adjustment. Your insurer can discuss all of the nitty gritty details with you and help you to choose the best policy for your jewelry and your personal needs.

International Handbook on OldAge Insurance $192.86 One measure of public program response to rapidly expanding older populations is the approach to oldage pensions under social insurance, social assistance, and provident fund systems. Social insurance is clearly the preferred method of meeting the income needs of the elderly, but historical, as well as current social and economic conditions are forcing many nations to reevaluate the characteristics of viable and sustainable social insurance programs. This has led to a variety of innovations in oldage pension programs development, including revised benefit formulas, raised retirement ages, increased income testing, and expanded reliance on private occupational supplemental programs. The essays in this new international handbook analyze the impact of the economic, social, and cultural effects of aging populations on government social insurance policies. They offer a perspective on how twenty different countries have approached income maintenance programs for the elderly. Collectively, the contributors demonstrate how governments, nongovernmental entities, communities, and families respond to changes in traditional income and social service support systems. They provide not only descriptions of existing programs, but also a better understanding of the factors that gave rise to their distinct characteristics. This important new collection will be required reading for everyone involved in elderly services. Author: Tracy, Martin/ Tracy, Martin B./ Pampel, Fred C. Medicare Supplemental Insurance $100.37 The majority of Medicare beneficiaries rely on supplemental insurance to help fill the gaps in Medicares benefit package and to protect themselves from large, unanticipated health care expenses. Although numerous studies have been conducted on Medicare Supplemental insurance ownership, few attempts have been made to explore the decision making process for purchasing Medigap. This book examined decision factors in the dynamics of private supplemental insurance purchases on the conceptual framework of Bounded Rationality. The study used Multilevel modeling to examine the timedependent relationship of the Medigap purchasing decision on longitudinal data from the Asset and Health Dynamics Among the OldestOld Survey (AHEAD). The study has implications for Medicare policies that are designed to enhance health care coverage while containing health care costs through market competition. It is also important for public agencies and other entities helping the disadvantaged elderly make informed enrollment decisions, and for furthering empirical knowledge and research methodology on the behavioral modeling with respect to health insurance purchases. Political Support for Social Insurance $117.9 Most advanced countries have comprehensive social policies addressing the issues in labor markets. However, there are considerable differences across nations with regard to their coverage and generosity of publicly provided social assistance. Additionally, most of the public programs have been subject to substantial changes over time. These disparities can be related to the certain labor market characteristics and in particular the risk exposure of the employees. The book inspects the underlying reasons of demand for social insurance by establishing a direct link to labor market uncertainties. Occupational unemployment rate is treated as an estimate of labor market risk, and it is concluded that this is the main explanatory variable. The results suggest that rather than the type of human capital investment, other forms of labor market risks shape the insurance policies. The book is a contribution to the literature on public choice models of social policy and individual social policy decisions. Insurance Purchasing Under Ambiguity $113.11 This work addresses the limitations of the expected utility theory in predicting risk preference under low probabilities. This topic has particularly not been addressed before when ambiguity is coupled with low probability estimates. The reader will find a theoretical analysis of ambiguity aversion when individuals purchase insurance for lowprobability loss events. The topic has been looked into under the light of forest carbon offsets and the need for insurance for unavoidable losses of the sequestrated carbon. That is because wildfire losses have small probabilities of occurrence and are associated with ambiguity. The growing importance of using biological sinks toward emissions reduction only heighten the significance of this topic. The book also offers an experimental design involving three phases, including a replica of a previous study on insurance behaviour, the addition of the ambiguity factor, and two methods of measuring ambiguity preference. This book is particularly useful for experimental and environmental economists, and anyone interested in government policies pertaining carbon offsets. Liability Insurance by Evelyn, Columba Sara [Paperback] $89.22 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Liability insurance is a part of the general insurance system of risk financing to protect the purchaser (the insured ) from the risks of liabilities imposed by lawsuits and similar claims. It protects the insured in the event he or she is sued for claims that come within the coverage of the insurance policy. Originally, individuals or companies that faced a common peril, formed a group and created a selfhelp fund out of which to pay compensation should any member incur loss (in other words, a mutual insurance arrangement). The modern system relies on dedicated carriers, usually forprofit, to offer protection against specified perils in consideration of a premium. Liability insurance is designed to offer specific protection against third party insurance claims, i.e., payment is not typically made to the insured, but rather to someone suffering loss who is not a party to the insurance contract. In general, damage caused intentionally as well as contractual liability are not covered under liability insurance policies. The Submerged State: How Invisible Government Policies Undermine American Democracy $8.09 "Keep your government hands off my Medicare!" Such comments spotlight a central question animating Suzanne Mettler’s provocative and timely book: why are many Americans unaware of government social benefits and so hostile to them in principle, even though they receive them? The Obama administration has been roundly criticized for its inability to convey how much it has accomplished for ordinary citizens. Mettler argues that this difficulty is not merely a failure of communication; rather it is endemic to the formidable presence of the "submerged state."            In recent decades, federal policymakers have increasingly shunned the outright disbursing of benefits to individuals and families and favored instead less visible and more indirect incentives and subsidies, from tax breaks to payments for services to private companies. These submerged policies, Mettler shows, obscure the role of government and exaggerate that of the market. As a result, citizens are unaware not only of the benefits they receive, but of the massive advantages given to powerful interests, such as insurance companies and the financial industry. Neither do they realize that the policies of the submerged state shower their largest benefits on the most affluent Americans, exacerbating inequality. Mettler analyzes three Obama reforms-student aid, tax relief, and health care-to reveal the submerged state and its consequences, demonstrating how structurally difficult it is to enact policy reforms and even to obtain public recognition for achieving them. She concludes with recommendations for reform to help make hidden policies more visible and governance more comprehensible to all Americans.            The sad truth is that many American citizens do not know how major social programs work-or even whether they benefit from them. Suzanne Mettler’s important new book will bring government policies back to the surface and encourage citizens to reclaim their voice in the political process.  |
